After quite a few different emails regarding Sprint phone's showing up clean, but unable to activate we did a little digging.

i-Wireless is an MVNO that operates on the Sprint network. They buy Sprint branded phones and sell them to the public through Kroger stores, and activate them on their own plans. The problem is, of the handful of phones they sell, people could easily be mistaken when buying or selling one used as a Sprint phone.

Unfortunately these phones are no longer Sprint phones, and the Sprint system will reflect that the phone can not be activated on Sprint or may be tied to an account already, even if it is clean. Because of this, we have implemented a method to verify if a clean Sprint ESN is from i-Wireless, and if so, you will be presented with a notice that the phone is from i-Wireless when checking the ESN against Sprint.
